Hello, I'm Magdalena Menzinger, a Munich based freelance Photographer.
I studied at the Meisterschule für Fotografie München and graduated in 2018.

AUTHENTICITY

I am best known for my long-term project faces which unites several smaller projects but all with the same idea: portraits of people showing their diversity, uniqueness and hence their beauty. My direct and simple photograpghic method lets the observer dive into all the details of a face, without distraction. Still, everybody plays a character, their way to represent themselves. We all do it, every day. Can this be considered part of our identity? My aim is to value and respect one's character, but also to find out what's behind the mask. Therefore I create a connection to the people before I photograph them. In general I only take one photo of each person, to keep my work as authentic as possible.
